hi, for those having the blank screen on telnet issue, I had the similar problem, here's how it was fixed...

I copied and pasted the MAC address from the router admin screen, but after several unsuccesful attempts, I checked the bottom of the modem and noticed that the last character of the mac address was incorrect. For some reason, it was changed from a 'E' to an 'F' - therefore when using the telnetenable.exe command, try using the mac address from the bottom of the router rather than the one in the admin screen. I also rebooted the router after using telnetenable. Not sure if this made any different but it allowed me to get the prompt when using the telnet client

Another thing you might want to check is your windows firewall settings, this can block the telnet too.

Hi Phil,

I've had this once before when I tried to use a 2nd device without making a new unlock code. Other than that I'd probably try to unlock and generate a new code.

Hi Alex.

First thing I'd check would be you have the right version of Navigator, as a different code is used per maps.

Hi and thanks for the instructions.
managed to get all done as suggested and installed on the sd card in my Nuvi 3710.
When I came to start the sat nav it came up with the error, maps not authenticated, which seems a bit odd as they were unlocked and installed.
Can you suggest how I authenticate them?

Thanks.
